EVERYTHING you need to make learning about Nocturnal Animals FUN!
Go batty for letter recognition! Flash a light into the cave to find a letter hiding on each bat, trace it to build writing skills, and keep the fun flying with a Kaboom-style extension game.
Get foxy with number sense! Flip a card to discover the number in four different ways, then stack the fox cups to build the formation and show what you know.
Build pattern skills and hand strength with this hedgehog activity! Clip colored clothespins around the edge to make prickly spikes, then complete or extend each pattern.
Dig into letter fun with these mole mazes! Connect the dirt paths to help the mole tunnel from start to finish, naming every letter along the way to build letter recognition and visual discrimination.
Build measurement skills and number sense with this mouse tail activity! Line up snap cubes along each tail to measure its length, then match the log to the corresponding number.
Howl at the moon for beginning sounds! Match magnetic letters to nocturnal animals from A to Z, or flip a card and pop the right letter into the moon container.
Spark curiosity and build science vocabulary with this nocturnal animal set! Sort day and night animals, explore night adaptations, and try an echolocation demo.
Get to the point with letter learning! Poke the dots along each letter to learn its shape and strengthen little fingers, one quill at a time.
Turn rhyming practice from trash to treasure with this raccoon game! Read each raccoon card, crumple it up, and toss it into the trash can with the rhyming word.
Count on a stinkin’ good time with this skunk spray activity! Squeeze, spray, and count the right number of “stinky” squirts onto each animal to build number sense and fine motor strength.
Give a hoot about counting with this owl stuffing game! Count out each of the four pompom colors into the owl cup to build number sense and fine motor skills.

This Could Be You:
This resource is so extensive and well-organized. There is so much material provided and our JKs loved it all. Some activities did need teacher support in small groups, while others could be used as independent shelf activities. Preschool children also enjoyed these activities, while just needing more teacher guidance. The bat cave was the greatest hit! We look forward to exploring with this resource again next Fall!

This is one of my favorite themes and definitely one of my favorite resources I have ever bought on TPT. She truly is a genius at hands-on learning games. My children have really loved the skunk spray game.

Great selection of activities. I liked that a few options were provided for the activities. For example, for one of the activities you are given the option to use pom poms or water, depending on what would work best for your group.

Very engaging activities for the kids. They really enjoyed the porcupine poke and the skunk spray activity.

So much to live about this unit. Easy prep and very engaging activities. We ask our littles what they enjoyed most and when we have your resources as a center they are well received. Thank you!
